It used to be that men ruled the world. Whether or not women agreed with that sentiment is another thing entirely. Men used to be the ones to get the higher paying jobs. Heck, women weren't even allowed to work. Men used to be the ones that brought home all the paycheques. Men used to be ones to dominate all the sports. It used to be a mad men type of world. Just watch any episode of Mad Men in your Port Credit homes and you'll see what we mean. Just remember, that was just the 1960's! Not even that long ago.
The idea of a woman buying a house or condo back then was unheard of. Now, however, it's no laughing matter. More and more women are buying real estate in today's time. You probably know a lot of women, be they your friends, daughters, girlfriends, sisters, or moms, who are buying real estate. You might even have spoken to someone today who was buying her first home.
Ask any Toronto or Edmonton real estate agent and they'll tell you how they see more and more women buying real estate than they used to. It's just a part of the times. No matter how much men think they used to rule the world before, there's no way they rule the world in today's day and age. Not even close. Women play just a pivotal role, if not more, in today's society than men. Whether it's in the world of employment, sports, Mississauga mortgages, entertainment, or real estate, women are on at least equal footing with men. It might not seem like that at times. Especially with certain industries still being a "good ole' boys network" but we can't deny that there are a lot of areas in which women have an important say.
Not only are there more women buying up North Vancouver homes or Yonge condos, but they're also doing so without financial support from their families. It's not like a woman will go out and buy a house only because her dad paid for the down payment. Many women have high paying jobs that afford them the luxury of being able to shop for condos for sale in Toronto on their own.
Whether it's her first home or second home, women are buying up real estate properties all the time today. It used to be crazy to think a woman could buy her own house before but that just goes to show how short-sighted society used to be. |
